Shopping, Restaurants, Farmstands, Events: So much to see:
There’s something to suit every taste on Vashon Island. Charming shops populate Vashon’s town, and the Island’s restaurants offer everything from fast food to fine cuisine. Local restaurants and coffee houses often feature local, regional and national talent on weekends and holidays.
Twice-a-year studio tours showcase a vibrant arts community, and every first Friday of the month, galleries present new artists. Theater, dance, and music all find multiple outlets on Vashon. Vashon Allied Arts operates from the Blue Heron Art Center and has broken ground for the Vashon Center for the Arts, a community arts campus that will celebrate Vashon’s rich tradition of fine and performing arts. The Open Space For Arts & Community offers a range of arts both on and off the stage.
Farming and Farm Stands:
The Vashon Island Growers Association (VIGA) offers locally grown produce at both a Saturday and Wednesday market in the heart of Vashon’s town.
VIGA is a non profit organization whose mission is to promote and advance agriculture on Vashon Island through education and the Farmers Market.

Local merchants organize events throughout the year, including Halloween trick-or-treating, Holiday Open House in December, Dog Day sales in August, and much more! Perhaps it’s the comforting sense of being nestled in the midst of Puget Sound, or the views of mountains at every corner, the friendly people, the peace and quiet, or the strong sense of community that makes Vashon Island like no other home.
